the 1980s

juicy
peach
bite
drips
in fine
females
strewn
like petals
and lingerie
falling
off
tan arms, like
meat off of bones
from the sharp forks
of a limousine's nation
silk scarfed
to marble
poles
tongues
slide
over
the V's
of many
a man
drifting
in rolling
synthesizers
long and sexest
like all those
smooth legs
spiked at
one end
dewy
at
the
other
exhaling
yes, oh yes
effervescent
in champagne
stained in
crimson
kiss
pretty face down
on corinthian
leather
pretty face down
on your mind
next week
as the
hot
floats
into a
golden
tray
for
ash
slimmest sticks
lipstick tipped
narcissistic any
nicotine indelibly
deep on summer nights

where
everyone
feels really
really, really
elaborately good

revenge
avarice
lust

nobody gives a fuck about tomorrow.

  1. So I get an immediate stripper vibe … that or it’s a house full of wild hippies (or maybe just spring breakers). So either this is a bachelor party and no one’s thinking about tomorrow (the wedding), or it’s just a crazy free-for-all.

I like the shaping of your poem (especially the one-word-line format; I always dig that style). It looks like waves, so you’re definitely headed to Florida. 🙂

    These are my favorite parts:

“yes, oh yes / effervescent / in champagne / stained in / crimson / kiss / pretty face down / on corinthian leather / pretty face down / on your mind / next week” Those are song lyrics, dude.

“slimmest sticks / lipstick tipped / narcissistic any”
