no name #?

the call, silver sliver
sleek feathers to pet
is she, her weeping
willow of wanderer
far off, years ago
lithely in limb
to where?

the passport’s
less than faced

her delicates
hand and eyes
folded in her lap
please speak to me
she turns to windows
slightest twitch of lash
must be remembering
breadcrumbs she lost
i ate them up, eager
to get closer to her
tasseled auburn
in the copper
sunling sky
heaven-ly
in glance
tree sap
tears

the buzz of bees
hovering holy
since B-C->
usher us
to god
less

i never wanted that.

wafting stock
or kindling
lover me
over

and though not is the right
i drive to our old house
every time we fake
hatred to our Us

  1. This makes me think the speaker has received a phone call from a restricted number, but she knows who it’s from—some girl from her past (or maybe the speaker is a man). Then the speaker starts remembering their history, both painful and beautiful. I think the speaker did not answer the call, but did walk back through all the memories, even going so far as to drive to their “special place.” Not the first time doing that. So apparently they can’t let go of each other, but it isn’t good for them to talk to each other either.

I adore this: “the call, silver sliver
    sleek feathers to pet”

You have a gift with stanza/line breaks that enables you to draw forth many meanings from the same bits of writing. For example, a stanza/line will mean one thing on its own but something different when you keep going on to the next stanza/line. Well, you know that. You wrote it. 😉

    This is another favorite:
    “i ate them up, eager
    to get closer to her
    tasseled auburn
    in the copper
    sunling sky”
